Think Clearly with AI: the toolkit

Most people re-explain themselves daily. This one sticks. A self-paced toolkit that teaches you to tell AI what you need, catch it when it's wrong, and make the habit stick, through games you actually play.

Dozens of lessons, 5 unlocked games, a live 8-email series. Or try the free preview, three slides and a live mini-game, no signup.

5.0 on Google “Clear, honest, refreshingly hype-free.” (Ben B.)

New in this version

The 5 traps that make AI feel dumb, a hands-on catch it when it’s wrong section with a sorting game, and the three moves that make AI pay off: judgment, fitting it into a real task, and making it stick. Each one taught by playing, not reading.

Why this works when other AI training doesn't

Most AI courses hand you a stack of prompt templates. You copy them once, forget them by the weekend, and you're no better at thinking with AI than before. Templates expire. Thinking patterns don't.

Here's the proof, not just my word for it. A 2023 study in the journal Science gave 453 working professionals access to ChatGPT for real writing tasks. Task time dropped 40 percent. Quality went up 18 percent. The people who started out weakest gained the most. That's what access alone does.

40%
Faster, with AI access alone

20×
More improvement, with the right training
CMU, ACM Transactions, 2024. Requirement-focused vs. prompt-trick training.

Now look at what happens with the right training. Researchers at Carnegie Mellon split prompting beginners into two groups. One learned prompt tricks and templates. The other learned to nail down what they actually needed before typing anything, the same move this toolkit teaches. The second group improved twenty times more than the first, on the same task, in the same amount of time.

Access helps. Judgment helps more. This toolkit teaches the second one, how to frame a problem, how to catch the AI being confidently wrong, how to interrogate an answer, and when not to trust it at all. You learn by playing, not by reading slides you'll never reopen.

What's inside

The self-paced workbook

Dozens of short lessons across a dozen sections. Read at your own pace, in your browser, nothing to install.

20+ inline mini-games

The moves are taught through play, so they stick. You practice the skill in the same place you learn it.

Catch it when it’s wrong

A full section on spotting confident-but-wrong answers, with a hands-on drag-sort that teaches a real check from a fake one.

The 5 traps

Vague asks, treating it like a search box, blaming the tool, starting from zero, trusting it blindly. Each with a quick gut-check.

The “use it well” moves

Judgment, fitting AI into a real task, and making it stick, so it pays off past the novelty.

5 unlocked games

Full versions of AI Detective, Prompt Wizardry, ClarityQuest, Agent Quest, and AI or Die.

The AI Skills Check

Thirty real work situations that show you where your AI thinking is sharp and where it’s sloppy, so you can spot blind spots before you start.

The custom-instructions prompt

My reverse-interview prompt that sets up your AI to know your job and talk like you, not like a press release.

The adversary-debate skill

A downloadable Claude skill that red-teams any idea between two real, named experts, then hands you a clean recommendation.

A habit-builder email series

Short daily nudges that turn what you learned into a routine instead of a one-time read.

Who it's for

This is for you if…

You use AI at work and want to get genuinely good at it, not just collect prompts. You learn better by doing than by watching. You'd rather own the skill than depend on a cheat sheet.

This is not for you if…

You're looking to train a whole team in a live session, or you need a custom, facilitated program. For that, the team workshops are the better fit.

Work in health services?

There's an edition built for health services professionals: nurses, social workers, counselors, allied health, anyone whose notes and decisions carry real stakes. Notes, Not Judgment takes this same judgment-first approach into the clinical room: the note that invents a detail, the citation that doesn't exist, the line you don't cross with patient information.
